Grey Purvis

Grant Coordinator

Grey is a passionate advocate for justice, and she has dedicated her life to speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Grey serves on the operations side, focusing on grant management, donor relations, and fundraising.

Raised in Houston, TX, Grey attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated in 2020 with a degree in psychology. Since she was young, she always knew she wanted to help others but lacked clarity in knowing what capacity.

After witnessing injustices within the world through studying abroad, research, and travel, Grey realized the desire that God has placed in her heart to fight against human trafficking. It was not until right after college that she discerned God’s calling on her life to serve in the nonprofit world. The opportunity for that calling did not come as quickly as expected. She entered into the staffing industry in the interim while consistently praying for God to open up a full-time non-profit opportunity.

During that period of time, she completed multiple internships with nonprofits focusing on anti-trafficking and poverty reduction, where she gained valuable experience in grant writing, fundraising, and research. God’s answer to her prayer arrived through Compassionate Hope about three years later.

After getting married, Grey and her husband, Austin, took some time to travel around the world. After that time, they felt called to move to Austin, Texas, where they developed a strong community through their church. They have a solid support system through their families and friends. They are confident in God’s timing for His will to be done.
