Sia sensed a clear calling to return and serve full-time in ministry with Compassionate Hope—the very place where she first encountered Christ.

Siyapon Meesri, Donor & Media Management for Compassionate Hope Foundation

Sia was born and raised in a poor Buddhist family in northern Thailand, in a small province called Phayao. Growing up, she had never heard the name of Jesus. Her life began to change when Compassionate Hope Foundation came to her village to build a school and serve children who lacked opportunities and family support. Through the love and faithfulness of those serving there, Sia encountered the love of Christ for the first time.

What began as curiosity gradually led to transformation. As she watched believers care for abandoned and hurting children with genuine joy and compassion, Sia began asking questions about God. After a season of seeking truth, studying the Bible, and witnessing God answer prayers in her own life, she surrendered her life to Jesus in 2016 at the Phu Sang Compassionate Hope Village of Hope.

As the first Christian in her family, Sia’s decision to follow Christ was not easy. She faced misunderstanding and opposition, and following Jesus came with real cost. Yet through those difficult seasons, God gave her strength and peace. Sia came to understand that Jesus is worth everything, and she was willing to surrender everything to follow Him. Through Christ, she experienced forgiveness, healing, and a new identity.

In 2017, God opened the door for Sia to study at Lighthouse Christian School in Tennessee through a scholarship from Compassionate Hope. During this season, her faith deepened as she grew in Christian community and built a strong spiritual foundation. After returning to Thailand, she completed a bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering and began pursuing what appeared to be a bright and secure future.

However, God continued to stir her heart toward a different path. Despite promising opportunities in engineering, Sia sensed a clear calling to return and serve full-time in ministry with Compassionate Hope—the very place where she first encountered Christ. What once felt like sacrifice soon became joy as she witnessed God transforming the lives of children who had experienced loss, abandonment, and deep emotional wounds. Today, she considers it a privilege to walk alongside these children and witness hope restored through Jesus.

Sia now serves with Compassionate Hope in Donor and Media Management, helping share the stories of transformation and connect others to the mission. The same hope that once reached her is now being shared with the next generation through her life and service.
